Poached strawberries are quick easy to make, and can accompany many chocolate- and lemon-based desserts.
Pomegranate molasses are now quite easy to find (even Morrisons sell them!) and add depth to savoury and sweet dishes.

Ingredients
- 300 g strawberries
- 1 tsp vanilla paste
- 1 tbl pomegranate molasses
- 2 tbl icing sugar

Instructions
- Hull the strawberries and cut into 2 or 4 pieces lengthways each, depending on size.
- Place in a saucepan and sprinkle with sugar. Add the vanilla paste and pomegranate molasses. Half cover with water.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, then turn off the heat and allow to cool in the pan.
- Store in a box in the fridge, in their liquid, for up to 3 days.
